The Caveman Bakery is a small, local company based in New York City, dedicated to creating unique, healthful and tasty treats that are consistent with the principles of the Paleolithic Diet (aka the "Caveman Diet").

The Caveman Diet is a nutritional system founded on the idea of eliminating modern-day processed foods and finding health and well-being in all-natural foods that early humans could have hunted or gathered. Currently, we offer three products called Cavemen Cookies, Tropical Cavemen Cookies, and Alpine Cavemen Cookies, which are all made using just nuts, honey and berries.

Cavemen Cookies are healthier than modern-day "healthy" cookies because Cavemen Cookies aren't made with grains, dairy, artificial ingredients or added sugar. Cavemen didn't have access to those ingredients, and so our cookies don't have them! As a result, Cavemen Cookies are all-natural, gluten-free, high-protein and just 65-75 calories each (depending on the variety)!

Unlike modern-day "healthy" cookies that leave you feeling hungry, Cavemen Cookies are made with such simple, wholesome ingredients that they will satisfy your sweet tooth and keep you feeling full due to the protein, dietary fiber, and good fats that they contain!

Our Story

I strongly believe in the principles of the Paleolithic Diet and the health benefits it promotes, and am always thrilled if I can introduce someone new to the concept of Paleolithic eating!

I am Stephanie Lester, the owner and founder of The Caveman Bakery.  Formerly a Trusts & Estates attorney at a New York law firm, I was frustrated by spending long hours in an artificial office environment and wanted to start a business dedicated to promoting a healthy, natural lifestyle and wholesome eating.  As of June, 2009, I realized that dream by founding The Caveman Bakery.   



I first learned about the Paleolithic Diet in college and began following it for its wonderful health benefits.  Over time, I baked Cavemen Cookies for friends and family and received so many compliments that I knew I had a great product.  It was only after I became an attorney, however, that I really appreciated how the cookies kept me full and satisfied over the course of the workday.  When I initially opened The Caveman Bakery, I worked as an attorney during the day and as a baker by night, but in February, 2010 I finally resigned from my job as an attorney to dedicate myself fully to my business.  Since that time, I have been able to introduce a new, tropical variety of Cavemen Cookies, and hope to add more products soon!
